TZS 160: 2013 Tomato sauce and ketchup — Specification

Tomato sauce and ketchup are consumed in Tanzania as condiments, which are ranked as one of the important tomato derived products. It is in view of their popular use and demand among consumers that a need to ensure their safety and quality was felt necessary, which subsequently resulted to the preparation of this Tanzania Standard as a means to safeguard the consumers and to guide manufacturers and other dealers of tomato sauce and ketchup.

This Tanzania Standard is also intended to be used as an important tool to be applied by food regulators in ensuring that tomato sauce and ketchup that is produced and consumed complies with the safety and quality requirements.
