TZS 189: 2014 Leather – Wet-blue chrome – Specification

As of today, Tanzania exports majority of raw and semi processed wet blue chrome leather mostly by private individuals. Due to the stand still of the leather industry, there has been prevailing differences in grading machinery in the tanneries and complications in export regulations hence the reconstitution of the Leather Technical Standards Committee.

This Tanzania Standard provides quality levels for the wet blue chrome leather which will ensure the extension of the present external market and high quality finished leather for domestic use.
