Government Gazette of Mauritius No. 63 of 18 July 2013: Animal Welfare Act 2013

An Act to make better provision for the welfare and protection of animals.
This Act provides for animal welfare. in particular it:(a) promotes the welfare and good treatment of animals; (b) seeks to protect animals from distress, pain or suffering; (c) regulates dog keeping, dog breeding and the importation of certain types of dangerous dogs; and (d) establishes the Mauritius Society for Animal Welfare.
