These regulations shall apply to sugar and allied products which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure
7. (1) Golden syrup shall—
(a) be a clear, amber colour, viscous solution obtained as a by-product of sugar refining by the partial inversion of refinery syrups; and
(b) be free from dirt and other extraneous matter, but may contain a proportion of molasses; and
(c) not contain—
(i) more than 3% of sulphated ash;
(ii) more than 50 mg of iron per kg
(iii) less than 83% of total solids;
(iv) less than 77% of total sugars, expressed as invert sugar;
(v) more than 55% of reducing sugars, expressed as invert sugar.
