The rationale of the measure

These regulations shall apply to sugar and allied products which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure

(2)Treacle shall—
(a) be obtained as a by-product of sugar refining by the partial inversion of refinery syrups and the subsequent addition of molasses; andB6
(b) be free from dirt and other extraneous matter; and
(c) not contain—
(i) more than 6% of sulphated ash;
(ii) more than 100 mg of iron per kg
(iii) more than 60% of molasses;
(iv) less than 83% of total solids.
