- The rationale of the measure
- 1.1 This specification covers the following types and components of respiratory protective devices: full face masks, including masks for special use; half masks; quarter masks; gas filters; combined filters for use as components in unassisted respiratory devised; mouthpiece assemblies; particle filters; powered particle filtering devices; standard and centre threads ; and filter self rescuers.
1.2 This specification also covers the design classification of respirators and the environments in which respirators are to be used.
1.3 This specification does not cover aspirators for the use in escape or diving application - Description of the measure
- 3.1 A respirator shall be so designed and constructed that it can supply the wearer with a source of breathable air which is not isolated from the wearer's immediate environment.
