Description of the measure: 3. Removal and burning of specified risk material
The specified risk material of every animal that is slaughtered by an abattoir or export slaughter house shall be removed immediately after the slaughtering of that animal, and shall be burned or buried.
["specified risk material" means the brain, eyes, spinal cord, tonsils, the whole of an
animal which has died on a farm, during transportation, or lairage, and any other part of a
bovine animal that has been specified by the Minister as likely to be contaminated with the
agent that causes BSE.]
