- 18. Import of butter and cheese
Butter and cheese may be imported from Zimbabwe into and in transit through Botswana:
Provided that-
(i) the milk or cream used for the manufacture of the butter has not been derived from herds within a radius of 40 km from the nearest foot-and-mouth infected area and that such milk or cream has been pasteurised;
(ii) the butter has been kept entirely separate and distinct from butter manufactured for consumption in Zimbabwe;
(iii) the milk used for the manufacture of the cheese has not been derived from any herd infected with foot-and-mouth disease or from any herd in the neighbourhood of an infected herd;
(iv) each consignment is accompanied by a certificate issued by a Government veterinary officer of Zimbabwe to the effect that the above-mentioned conditions have been complied with. - Reference of the measure
