The rationale of the measure
These regulations shall apply to edible fats and oils which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure
6 (1) No person shall sell any food containing mineral oil, or any food which has come into contact with mineral oil during its manufacture, production or preparation:
Provided that—
(i) prunes, currents, sultanas and raisins may contain no more than 0,3% of mineral oil; and
(ii) subject to the provisions of subsections (2) and (3), food shall contain no more than 0,2% of mineral oil, if, of necessity,
it has come into contact with some surface lubricated or greased with mineral oil.
(2) Any liquid mineral oil used as a lubricant with which food may come into contact shall comply with the specifications for liquid paraffin laid down in the current edition of the British Pharmacopoeia.
(3) Any semi-liquid mineral oil used as a greasing agent with which food may come into contact shall comply with the specification for white soft paraffin laid down in the current edition of the British Pharmacopoeia.
