Description of the measure
Packing and sorting requirements
(3) (a) Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 horse-radish shall be packed and sorted according to ,
(i) the diameter of the upper third of the root; and
(ii) the length of the root, excluding the crowns.
(b) The minimum diameter of the root ;
(i) in the case of Class 1 horse-radish is 25 mm; and
(ii) in the case of Class 2 horse-radish is 15 mm.
(c) The minimum length of the root ;
(i) in the case of Class 1 horse-radish is 200 mm; and
(ii) in the case of Class 2 horse-radish is 100 mm.
(4) Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 horse-radish may be packed ;
(a) in bunches; or
(b) in loose quantities.
Permissible deviations with regard to packing and sorting requirements
regulation 4(4)(c):
(6) Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 horse-radish may deviate from the packing and sorting requirements,
set out in subregulations 3 and 4, with 10%, 15% and 25% respectively by diameter and
length.
