These regulations shall apply to allcanned fruits which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

6 (2) Canned fruits shall, subject to the *Food and Food Standards (Food Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, SI 136/2001, be free from added colouring, gelling agents, acidity regulators or any additives other than permitted preservatives.

Description

Canned fruits i.e product prepared from clean, sound fruits or a mixture of such fruits of proper ripeness, with or, without the addition of sugar, salt, vinegar and other ingredients, other than food additives, with such quantities of potable water as may be necessary, and packed in hermetically sealed or firmly and accurately closed containers and heat-processed to ensure preservation
