The rationale of the measure
These regulations shall apply to preserves, other than jam and marmalade prepared for consumption by diabetic persons and labelled accordingly, table-jelly and honey which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure
6 No person shall sell as honey, pure honey or processed honey any substance which is not solely the saccharine product of the honey-bee, and honey, pure honey or processed honey shall—
(a) be of a characteristic flavour, and be free from any objectionable aroma, flavour or taint; and
(b) be free from fermentation; and
(c) contain not more than 0,2% of water-insoluble solids; and
(d) contain not more than 20% of water; and
(e) contain not more than 5% of sucrose; and
(f) contain not less than 65% of reducing sugars, expressed as invert sugar.
(g) contain not more than 0,6% of ash; and
(h) contain not more than 40 milliequivalents acid per 1 000 gms.
