Description of the measure
Article 14: The food shall be healthy and conform with the standards of identity of the FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission and, if otherwise, at the discretion of the Contact Point, or with the identity and quality standards of other international or regional institutions, of recognized ability, or other countries or those that may be indicated.
Article 15: The foods referred to in the present Regulation shall, without prejudice to compliance to other requirements that may be established by the Contact Point, comply with the following requirements:
(a) Not present parasites, insect parts, fungi, fermentation evidence, yeast, animal or plant debris and other foreign substances that indicate the use of ingredients in inappropriate conditions and/or improper handling or manufacture of technology employment;
(b) Not present pathogens and/or toxic substances produced by micro-organisms in amounts which may make them harmful to human health;
(c) Not present micro-organisms in development under normal storage conditions.
Article 16: The levels of inorganic contaminants, microbiological micro-toxins should conform with the maximum permitted limits by national law or as may be set out by the Contact Point, respecting the limits and quality standards of the FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission or other recognized institutions, at the discretion of the Contact Point.
