- 1. Protect public health through disease surveillance and control.
2. To protect the national and export market of animals and products of animal origin through the surveillance and control of animal diseases.
3. To serve as the basis for carrying out the vigilance and eradication of diseases of great economic and/or public health importance.

- Description of the measure
- 1. The entry, movement, transit or exit of diseased, suspected, infected or newly disease-borne diseases listed in the List of notifiable diseases and the presence of ectoparasites shall be prohibited.
2. The animals referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article may be re-exported, quarantined or slaughtered without entitlement to compensation, as determined by the Veterinary Authority. - Reference of the measure
