The rationale of the measure

These regulations shall apply only to meat and preparations of meat which are sold or intended for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure

No person shall administer to poultry or slaughter animals any substance having oestrogenic, androgenic, thyrostatic or anabolic activity, unless such substance is--
(a) registered under the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds and Remedies Act [Chapter 18:12]; and
(b) approved by the Secretary:
Provided that a registered veterinary surgeon may administer such substances for therapeutic purposes.
