The rationale of the measure
These regulations shall apply to all canned vegetables which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure
7 (1) Canned tomatoes shall be prepared from ripe, clean and sound tomatoes which may or may not be peeled, and shall—
(a) have the stems and calices removed; and
(b) be cored unless the core, having regard to its texture and appearance, is insignificant.
(2) Canned tomatoes may be subject to the Food and Food Standards (Food Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, 2001, contain salt. sugar, spices, flavouring ingredients or any other ingredients.
(3) The name on the label shall include such style as “sliced”, "wedged", "whole" or such other style as may be appropriate.
(4) The substrate media shall be identified on the label and shall be—
(a) tomatojuice as described in section five; or
(b) tomato puree as described in section nine; or
(c) tomatopaste as described in section ten; or
(d) strained liquid residue of tomato material prepared from tomato material remaining after peeling and coring tomatoes for canning.
(5) the drained mass of whole canned tomatoes shall be not less than 57% of the net mass of the can
