The rationale of the measure
These regulations shall apply to all canned vegetables which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure
15 (1) Canned maize shall be prepared from clean should kernels of white or yellow sweet maize varieties; with tip caps removed, packed in a suitable liquid substrate medium which may include water.
(2) Canned maize may contain salt, sugar, or, subject to the *Food and Food Standards (Food Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, 2001, any other ingredients.
(3) The drained mass of canned maize shall be not less than 65% of the net mass.
(4) Canned maize shall contain not more than—
(a) 30 silks of not more than 25 mm in length per 150 grms of the canned maize; and
(b) 2% by mass of husks and cob particles
