Description of the measure
Prescribes the requirements and method of sampling and testing, hygiene, packaging, marking and labelling for crude palm stearin, neutralized bleached palm stearin; and refined bleached and deodorized (including neu¬tralized, bleached and deodorized) palm stearin, obtained from a one stage fractionation process through any of the following three processes:

a) Dry fractionation through crystallization of the oil by controlled cooling and subse¬quent filtration.


b) Detergent fractionation through crystallization of the oil by controlled cooling and separation of the fractions after addition of surface active agent. After fractionation, the surface active agent is removed by washing.

c) Solvent fractionation through controlled crystallization of the oil in a solvent, followed by separation of the fractions. After fractionation, the solvent is removed from each fraction.
