- Lack of recognition of CTH criteria in the EAC Rules of Origin for motor vehicles by Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda
- Status note
- At the 16th NTBs forum held in Kigali in December 2014, EAC Secretariat reported that Partner States are now recognizing EAC rules of origin. This NTB is therefore resolved.

Consulations among focal points from EAC partner states are on going .
1. On 11 May 2012, Tanzania focal point reported that this issue is on the List of NTBs that Kenya has put down to be discussed in the Bilateral meeting with Tanzania scheduled to take place in May 2012.
2. On 13 may 2012, Uganda focal point reported that consultation with Customs Uganda Revenue Authority are in progress.
3. On 14 may 2012, Rwanda focal point reported that the issue is still pending in Rwanda. The Revenue authority has proposed that EAC secretariat should organize a verification mission in Kenya to see that the motor vehicles fullfill the rules of origin criteria.
4. EAC secrertariat is consulting relevant authorities to set up a date for the verification mission. - Policy or regulatory NTB
