The rationale of the measure

These regulations shall apply to edible fats and oils which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

Description of the measure

5 (1) Dripping shall —
(a) be composed of fat rendered from the meat of cattle, sheep or goats which have been determined by an inspector to be in good health at the time of slaughter and fit for human consumption;
(b) be free from objectionable odour or taste and be of an off-white to pale yellow colour;
(c) contain no foreign substance except common salt;
(d) have a free fatty acid content of not more than 1,5% expressed as oleic acid.
