Description of the measure
7. Cider
(1) Cider shall be the product of the alcoholic fermentation of apple juice , pear juice or a mixture of the juice of apple and pears with or without the addition of potable water , sugar, or concentrated apple juice and shall contain not less than 2,5 per centum and not more than 19 per centum of absolute alcohol by volume.
(2) one hundred millitres of cider , measured at a temperature of twenty degrees Celsius shall contain –
(a) not less than two grams and not more than twelve grams of total solids;
(b) not more than two grams of sugar calculated as reducing sugars ; and
(c ) not more than nought, three five per centum weight by volume of the volatile acid calculated as acetic acid.
