Description of the measure
68. Ivory or tusks imported into or acquired in Botswana
(1) Any person who imports any ivory or any tusk into Botswana, or who acquires, within
Botswana, any ivory, or any tusk, without a certificate of ownership issued under section 67(2) shall, within 7 days of so importing or acquiring it, produce such ivory or tusk to a licensing officer, at such wildlife office as may be prescribed for that purpose, for registration, together with such reasonable proof of the lawful importation or acquisition thereof as the licensing officer may require, and where appropriate the provisions of section 67(2) or (3) shall mutatis mutandis apply in respect thereof:
Provided that the provisions of this subsection shall not apply in respect of any tusk or ivory which is imported into Botswana by any museum or scientific or educational institution, or in respect of any ivory which is in such form, or is acquired from such source, as the Minister may, bearing in mind the terms of CITES, by regulations made under this Act, or in any particular case exempt therefrom.

Description of the measure: 10. Agrochemicals to be registered
No person shall own, use, possess, import, manufacture, advertise, distribute or sell an agrochemical unless such agrochemical is registered under this Act:
Provided that this section shall not apply in the case of an unregistered agrochemical-
( a) intended to be used for experimental or research purposes; or
( b) on direct transit to another country and the Registrar is satisfied that the agrochemical will be permitted to enter a country outside Botswana.

52. Special provisions regarding stills and still makers
(1) Every still maker shall immediately on importation or manufacture by him of any still obtain from the Director a registration number which he shall imprint or emboss legibly, together with his name and address and the capacity of the still, on the column or columns of every such still if it is a patent continuous still, and on both the shoulder and helm in the case of a pot still.

4. Import, export, etc., of pest control products
(1) No person shall import into, or sell in, Kenya any pest control product unless that product has been registered, packaged and labelled in accordance with regulations made under this Act and conforms to the standards specified in those regulations.
(2) No person shall export or re-export out of Kenya any pest control products unless he has complied with the requirement specified in regulations made under this Act.

Description of the measure: Article 6: Agrochemicals registration fee
Agrochemicals shall be registered upon depositing in the public treasury a registration fee determined by a Ministerial Order.

A receipt for payment of such a fee shall be produced when registering agrochemicals.

Article 12: Agrochemical registration
An application for authorization of an agrochemical shall be made to the registrar in writing and accompanied by:
1 º a receipt for the prescribed fee;
2 º documents providing information on the properties of an agrochemical;
3 º samples and materials;
4 º samples of labels, pictograms and packaging procedures.

Pharmaceutical products and medical devices.
Pharmaceutical product: any substance capable of preventing, treating human or animal diseases and any other substance intended for administration to a human being or an animal in order to diagnose diseases, restore, correct or carry out modification of organic or mental functions. It also means products used in disinfecting premises in which food and drugs are manufactured, prepared or stored, cleaning hospitals, equipment and farm houses.

Description of the measure
11-(I) An application for the registration of a chemical shall be submitted to the Chief Government Chemist in the prescribed manner and form, as set out in the Second Schedule to this Act.
11 (2) Registration of a chemical may be applied for by - (a) the Producer,of the chemical; (b) the marketing firm, if the
chemical is to be marketed for the first time in Mainland Tanzania; or (c) the importer and exporter of that chemical.
11 (4) An application for registration of a chemical shall contain - (a) the name and address of the applicant; (b) the hazardous category of the chemical substance; (c) the details of its composition, particularly the nature and quantity of its ingredients, using the commonly employed scientific nomenclature; (d) the details of the intended use.
11 (9) All chemicals that appear under the Third and Sixth Schedule shall require registration.
12. Without prejudice to the generality of section I 1, an applicant for registration of a chemical, shall comply to the requirements provided for under the provisions of section 11 (4) (a) to (d) of this Act.
22.-(I) The registration of a chemical shall be valid for a period of five years and for a provisional clearance shall be two years.
