13. Brandy
(1) brandy-
(a) shall be a potable alcoholic distillate obtained by the distillation of wine which is itself produced from grapes in terms of section 5;
(b) may contain caramel and may be blended with fruit or other botanical substances flavourings
(2) no person shall make any claim with respect to the age of brandy other than the period during which such brandy has been stored and aged in small wood for at least three years provided that any period not exceeding six months during which such brandy was held in other containers may be claimed as age.
(3) Cognac brandy or Cognac shall be brandy manufactured in the Cognac district of France for domestic consumption in accordance with the laws of the Republic of France.
(4) Armagnac brandy or Armagnac shall be brandy manufactured in the Armagnac district of France for domestic consumption in accordance with the laws of the Republic of France.
(5) imported brandy shall be a potable distillate obtained by the distillation of wine manufactured in accordance with the laws of the country of origin for domestic consumption and the label shall clearly state such country origin.
Provided that where such brandy is blended, prior to bottling with locally produced ingredients such label shall state that the brandy is product of Zimbabwe
(6) fruit brandy shall be a potable distillate obtained by the distillation of fruit wine, a mixture of fruit wines, a mixture of wine and fruit wine or a mixture of such other distillates and may contain caramel or other botanical substances or flavourings .

(b) consists solely of coffee :
Provided that decaffeinated coffee shall contain not more than 0,1% of caffeine.
(2) The appropriate description for a coffee product which complies with the provisions of subsection (1) shall be "ground coffee" or "decaffeinated ground coffee", as may be the case.

7 (1) No coffee product shall be described on its package as ground coffee and chicory or ground chicory and coffee unless it—
(a) is in ground form; and
(b) contains only ground coffee and chicory .
(2). The appropriate description for a coffee product which complies with the provisions of subsection (1)—
(a) where the proportion of coffee is not less than the proportion of chicory, shall be "ground coffee and chicory":
Provided that the words "French coffee" may be used in addition to the description "ground coffee and chicory";
(b) where the proportion of coffee is less than the proper proportion of chicory and is more than 20% of the combined mass of the coffee and chicory, shall be "ground chicory and coffee".

(b) contains coffee with or without chicory and glucose solids, and no other ingredients,
(2) The appropriate description for an instant coffee product which has been prepared from—
(a) coffee only, shall be "instant coffee";
(b) coffee and chicory only—
(i) where the proportion of coffee used in its preparation is not less than the proportion of chicory so used, shall be , shall be "instant coffee and chicory”;
Provided, that the words “instant French coffee” may be used in addition to the description "instant coffee and chicory”;
(ii) where the proportion of coffee used in its preparation is less than the proportion of chicory so used and is not less than 20% of the combined mass of the coffee and chicory so used, shall be "instant chicory and coffee”;
(c) coffee and glucose solids only, where the proportion of coffee used in its preparation exceeds that of the glucose solids so used, shall be “instant coffee mixture”;
(d) coffee, chicory and glucose solids only—
(i) where the proportion of coffee used in its preparation is not, less than proportion of chicory, so used and the proportion of glucose solids used in its preparation does not exceed the combined mass of the coffee and chicory so used, shall be “instant coffee and chicory mixture";

(a) may contain salt, ascorbic acid or subject to the Food and Food Standards (Food Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, 2001 any other ingredients; and
(b) shall contain a soluble tomato solid content, exclusive of added salt, of not less than 5% when determined by a refractometer at 20°Brix on the international sucrose scale.
These regulations shall apply to all canned vegetables which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.
