- 10. Product traceability.
(1)All steps in the supply chain shall identify the suppliers of fishery products or raw materials and their customers for any specific batch or consignment.
(2)Processing establishments shall identify the supplier and batch numbers of all ingredients, packaging materials and food contact cleaning chemicals used in the establishment.
(3)Product landed at designated landing sites shall if compliant with the necessary legal requirements under the Act, be issued with a fish movement permit authorised under the BMU Rules as proof of origin for traceability.
(4)All products landed at gazzetted fish landing sites shall be assessed and if compliant with the necessary standards, shall be issued with a local health certificate by the authorised fish inspector.
(5)Export processing establishments shall only accept fish that are accompanied by signed local health certificate.
(6)Traceability records shall be available to the competent authority upon demand for a period of two years from date of issue - Reference of the measure

- Any person wishing to import fresh, chilled, frozen, salted, dried or smoked meat, other than that preserved by canning, is required to obtain from the national level veterinary authorities an import permit.
The application shall mention the origin of the meat, the name and address of the consignor, the quantity to be imported and possibly the method used for its preservation.
Imported meat, apart from that not mentioned in the paragraph two of this article and that known as "bush meat" must come from animals slaughtered in abattoirs or slaughterhouses under direct supervision of the veterinary authority of the country of origin.
Each quarter shall be marked with the stamp of the meat inspection indicating the slaughterhouse of origin and the date of the animal slaughter, either on the meat itself, or sealed to it. - Reference of the measure

- 2. (1) No person shall sell apples in the Republic of South Africa other than imported apples referred to in subregulation (3)
(e) apples comply with the traceability requirements as set out in regulation 11
(g) if such apples contain a substance(s) that render them unfit for human or animal consumption or for processing into or utilization thereof as food or feed
2(3) Imported apples may be exempted from the provisions of subitem (1), provided that the apples
(a) comply with either the Codex, UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) or OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) standards
TRACEABILITY REQUIREMENTS
11. Food business operators shall:
(a) establish the traceability of apples at all stages of production. packing, handling and distribution;
(b) be able to identify any person or supplier from whom they have been supplied with apples. or any substance intended to, or expected to be used in the production or processing of apples;
(c) have in place systems and procedures to identify other businesses to which their apples have been supplied;
(d) ensure that adequate procedures are in place to withdraw apples from the trade where such apples present a serious risk to the health of consumers;
(e) immediately withdraw apples from the trade which were identified as food products that present a serious risk to the health of consumers;
(f) immediately inform the Executive Officer of such withdrawal;
(g) immediately make available to the Executive Office, on request any relevant information or documentation mentioned in (a). (b), (c), (d), (e) or (f); and

- 7 (2) All importers of farm feeds shall ensure that-
(a) They comply with the requirements of section 3 of these regulations; and
(b) Compulsory pre-shipment inspection, at the expense of the applicant, is conducted; and
(c) They submit through inspectors, samples to the laboratory for analysis; and
(d) They make all necessary declaration of growth promoters, antibiotics, enzymes and GMO status before import permit is issued; and
(e) Compulsory mycotoxin analysis is conducted prior to registration; and they incorporate Zimbabwe registration number, name and physical address of the local distributor, and details of the manufacturer on the label.
