5 (7) The label affixed to a container in which a remedy is imported for purposes other than sale shall be clearly marked with the words “FOR EXPERIMENTAL PURPOSES ONLY—NOT FOR SALE”.
7. Labelling of containers
(1) No person shall sell any remedy unless the label is securely affixed to the container and it is in the English language or, where the registering officer considers it appropriate, in the Chichewa language as well. (2) The label, which shall be verbally and graphically identical in all respects to that approved by the registering officer under these regulations shall state— (a) the name and address of the applicant; (b) the company brand or symbol; (c) the brand of the remedy; (d) the registration number under which the remedy is registered, and the identity of each lot or batch of the product in numbers or letters that can be read, transcribed and communicated by anyone without the need for codes or other means of deciphering; (e) the net quantity by weight or volume in the container; (f) the common and trade names, and the percentage of active ingredient provided that such percentages and quantities of active and inert matter shall be verified by the Malawi Bureau of Standards or any other institution recognized by the Minister; (g) the purpose for which the remedy has been registered; (h) the directions for use of the remedy, the target pest, target crop, dosage, timing of treatment, safety period and any other similar information required by the registering officer; (i) the precautionary measures to be observed in handling and using the remedy; (j) the appropriate warning with regard to the poisonous nature of the remedy specified in this regulation; (k) the symptoms of poisoning; (l) the remedial treatment in the case of poisoning where applicable; (m) the date of manufacture and shelf life of the pesticide; (n) a warning against the re use of containers and instructions for the safe disposal or decontamination of empty containers; and (o) any other information which the registering officer may approve or consider to be necessary.
Without prejudice to the metrological legislation and Mozambican standards, namely NM 15 and NM 80, common cement bags shall bear to the following markings:
a) Cement designation according to the Mozambican NM Standard NP EN 197-1 including the type and strength’s class;
b) Name and address of the manufacturer, packer, importer or distributor, whenever applicable;
c) The date of packaging;
d) The designation "use preferably within 3 months after the packing date";

Article 42 (Identification and labeling)
1. Any operator intending to carry out any activity with GMOs and their products shall submit the accompanying documentation to the National Biosafety Authority for easy identification and recognition and shall include the following:
(A) a declaration that the good contains GMOs in cases where the identity of the GMO is known through identity preservation systems;
(B) common and scientific names and, where they exist, the trade names of the GMOs;
C) Code of the transformation event and / or, where there is and as a key to access the Information Exchange Mechanism, its unique identifier code registered with it, together with the electronic address;
D) Contact details, in particular of the exporter, importer or other authority, when indicated by the Government for the provision of additional information;
(E) the purposes for which the goods are intended.
2. All packaging and / or containers containing GMOs and their products must bear a label and package leaflet, in compliance with the current labeling rules, with the words "Containing Genetically Modified Organisms" clearly visible.
3. With the exception of GMOs and their products in transit through the national territory, destined for countries in the region, all others destined for human consumption, animal, processing, research or liberation, must present the information contained in the labels written in Portuguese and / Or English and easily readable.
4. Any change in the information on the label must be submitted in advance to the National Biosafety Authority for approval.
5. The labeling standards shall be defined by the GIIBS and submitted for approval by the National Biosafety Authority.

Collective advertising campaigns, nutritional labeling is accordance with the rules set out in Annex III.
3. Fishery products belonging to the family Gempylidae, in particular Ruvettus pretiosus and Lepidocybium flavobrunneum, fresh, prepared, frozen and processed, must contain information to the consumer about the preparation or the how to cook and about the risk related to the presence of substances with adverse gastrointestinal effects. The name scientific name of such products shall accompany the common name label.
4. The mandatory particulars of paragraph 1 (a), (b) and (o) should appear on the main panel.
5. For non-prepackaged products, the following shall not apply: c) and (g) of paragraph 1, where products sold in bulk and packaged in the sales outlets, the buyer's request and, if they are products sold in bulk packaged at the sales outlets at the buyer's request in the the information contained in the collective packaging or other provided that this information is accessible to the consumer, or made known, orally, by the selling agent on request the consumer.
6. In the case of packages the largest surface of which has a less than 10 cm2 only the following endorsements are required: Name of the product, country of origin, net quantity and date of consumption.
Article 6
1. The indication of the quantity of the ingredients shall be compulsory:
(A) Where the ingredient or category of ingredients concerned is included in the sales description of the product or is usually associated with the consumer's name of the product;
(B) Where the ingredient or category of ingredients concerned is highlighted on the label by words, pictures or graphic representation;
(C) Where the ingredient or category of ingredients concerned is essential for characterizing a product or distinguishing it from products with which it may be confused because of its name or appearance.
2. The requirement to mention the quantity of ingredients shall not apply to an ingredient or category of ingredients where:
(A) The drained net weight is indicated;
(B) The quantity must already appear on the label under other legal provisions;
(C) They are used in small quantities for flavoring purposes;
(D) Although it appears in the sales description, it is not such as to determine the choice of the consumer, since the variation in quantity is not essential to characterize the product or is such as to distinguish that product from other similar products;
(E) Other specific provisions determine precisely the quantity of the ingredient or category of ingredients without providing for their indication on the label.
3. The quantity expressed as a percentage corresponds to the quantity of the ingredient(s) at the time of its use, at the time of manufacture, except for the quantity of ingredients used in concentrated or dehydrated form and reconstituted during manufacture.
4. The endorsement referred to in paragraph 1 shall appear in the sales name of the product in the immediate vicinity of that name or in the list of ingredients related to the ingredient or category of ingredients concerned.
5. This Article shall apply without prejudice to the rules for the nutrition labeling of the products referred to in Annex IV.
Article 20
1. The labels or labels on the primary packaging of food products of aquatic origin shall contain mandatory entries in the Portuguese language, with the use of other languages being optional.

Labelling of mixture seed
17.Every package of a mixture of seed, offered for sale, of the specified in the Table 11 set out in the First Schedule of these Regulations shall be labeled with:
(a)the name and address of the dealer;
(b)seed class;
(c)the name and percentage by weight of each in the mixture, in order of its predominance;
(d) the name of the variety of each plant species in the mixture.
(e)germination percentage of each component of the mixture, in order of its predominance;
(f) month and year of germination test; and
(g) in the case of seed that is imported, the name of the country of production;Labeling of roots, tubers, and pyrethrum seed
18.Every package of seed, offered for sale, of the plant species specified on Table 16 set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations shall be labeled with:
(a)the name and address of the dealer;
(b)the name of the plant species;
(c)the name of the variety roots or cuttings, as the case may be;
(d)seed class and year of production;
(e)germination or sprouting percentage if applicable;
(f)month and year of germination or sprouting test; and (g) lot number
21.-(1) Every package of a mixture of forage seed offered for sale, of the plant species specified in Tables 8 and 9 set out in First Schedule to these Regulations shall be labeled with:
(i)the name and address of the dealer;
(ii)seed class;
(iii)the name and percentage by weight of each in the mixture, in order of its predominance;
(iv)the name of the variety of each plant species inthe mixture.
(v)germination percentage of each component of the mixture, in order of its predominance;
(vi)month and year of germination test; and
(vii)in the case of seed that is imported, the name of the country of production;
(2) The information stated on a package or label pursuant to paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) of sub regulation (1) of this regulation shall be on the same face of the package or label and shall be of the same type of printing or lettering.
Any person shall not sell a manufactured, processed and pre-packaged or packaged food unless a label has been affixed or applied to the container of that food- (sale of unlabelled food prohibited)
Labelling of onion sets and multiplier onions
19.Every package of onion sets and multiplier onions offered for sale shall be labeled with:
(a)the name and address of the dealer;
(b)the term “onion sets” or “multiplier onions”;
(c)class of the onion sets and multiplier onions as set out in Table 17 of the First Schedule to these Regulations;
(d)germination or sprouting percentage;
(e)lot number;
(f)month and year of germination test; and
(g)in the case imported, the name of the country of production.
