- 11.-(1)Fishing vessels shall be classified for licensing purposes in classes enumerated in part (a) of the Third Schedule of these Regulations and fees payable for such licences shall be those stated in part (a) of the Third Schedule against each class and upon payment of the said fee and subject to compliance with the provisions of the Act and of these Regulations licensing authorities may issue licences which shall be in the appropriate Form 4 prescribed in the First Schedule of these Regulations.
(2) Any fishing vessel brought into the country whether owned by citizen or non-citizen shall be registered under these Regulations and have licences under non-citizen conditions until such a time the vessel has been properly imported into the country and registered under the Merchant shipping Act No. 43 of 1967. - Reference of the measure

- 4-(1) No person shall import food into Tanzania Mainland, unless he is a holder of a valid import permit issued by the authority in respect of food.

5. –(1) subject to sub-regulation (3) of this regulation, an application for registration as a food importer or for import permit as the case may be shall be made to the authority in Form prescribed in second schedule to these regulations and shall be accompanied by a fee as prescribed under fees and charges regulations made under the Act.
(2) The authority shall grant an import permit if it is satisfied
(a) in case of pre-packaged food, that the food item intended to be imported has been registered with the Authority;
(b) in case of un-pre-packaged food, the food item intended to be imported complies with specification prescribed by the authority;
(c) That the food item for which permit is being sought has not been banned or does not contain any ingredient which has been banned in the country of origin
(3) The authority may with draw, cancel or suspend any registration certificate or import permit issued by it or cancel any food item specified therein if-
(a) it is discovered that false information was given in obtaining the import permit or registration of the food importer or of the food item in question;
(b) it is reasonably suspected that a food item specified therein is likely to cause death hazard to consumers. - Reference of the measure

- 117. (1) The Commissioner may grant to any person an import permit to import minerals into Uganda on conditions prescribed by or under this section and specified in the permit.
(2) A person who imports any minerals into Uganda under this section shall make a declaration before a customs officer regarding the type and quantity of minerals imported, after which the customs officer shall certify the import permit.
(3) An import permit under subsection (1) of this section shall be issued only on payment of the prescribed fee.
(4) Before any minerals are re-exported from Uganda, the relevant import permit shall be surrendered to a customs officer who shall submit it to the Commissioner.
(5) Any person who imports any minerals into Uganda without complying with the requirements of this section commits an offence and is liable, on conviction, to a fine of not less than two hundred and fifty currency points or to imprisonment for a term of not less than two years, or both. - Reference of the measure

2. Tariffs are hereby imposed for the issue of permits In respect of the importation of animals and animal products.
Amount of tariffs
3. The amount of tariffs referred to in clause 2 shall respectively be -
(a) R120-00 per import permit,
(b) R1000-00 per master permit; and
(c) R5.50 per certified copy.
Persons by whom tariffs are payable
