- 8. Application to import trial products
8.1 An application to import trail products shall be made by the sponsor himself or by an authorized company with a permanent address in Uganda.
9. Issuance of an import / manufacturing permit for trial products
9.1 Prior to importation or manufacture of an ectoparasiticide trial product, the sponsor shall apply for an import /manufacturing permit from the Authority.
9.2 The issuance of a permit to import or manufacture a trial- related product shall depend on the approval of the trial.
9.3 A product including a placebo, which is not registered with the Authority and is to be imported for the purpose of a trial shall have an import permit.
9.4 A product with a marketing authorization (registered product) when used or assembled (formulated or packaged) in a way different from the approved form, or when used for an unapproved indication or when used to gain further information about an approved use in a trial also requires a trial permit. - Reference of the measure

- 7.Fish sanitary certificate.
(1)A person shall not place on the market or export out of Uganda a batch or consignment of fish or fish products without a fish sanitary certificate issued by a fish inspector in respect of the batch or consignment.
(2)For the purposes of these rules, a fish sanitary certificate is—
(a)the local health certificate as set out in the first schedule or;
(b)the sanitary health certificate issued for the export of product from Uganda as set out in the first schedule.
(3)The fees to be charged for a fish sanitary certificate in respect of each batch or consignment of fish shall be twenty thousand shillings.
(4)A person shall not import a batch or consignment of fish or fish products into Uganda without a completed official sanitary health certificate issued by the competent authority of the exporting country, in respect of the batch or consignment.
8.Refusal to issue fish sanitary certificate
(1)A fish inspector may refuse to issue a fish sanitary certificate in respect of any consignment or batch of fish or fish products from an establishment if—
(a)the consignment or batch in respect of which the certificate is sought is contaminated with micro-organisms that are potentially injurious to human health or with undesirable chemicals;
(b)the establishment has not complied with the sanitary requirements set out in these Rules;
(c)the establishment has not complied with its Quality Management Programme;
(d)contamination exceeds the relevant national or international standard;
(e) packaging and labelling do not comply with these rules; or
(f)The establishment has not complied with any other condition prescribed by the Commissioner.
(2)Where a fish inspector refuses to issue a fish sanitary certificate under this rule, he or she shall communicate the reasons for refusing to issue the certificate to the establishment or applicant.
(3) A fish inspector may, for the purpose of establishing the safety and quality of the fish or fish product, take samples for analysis in an officially approved laboratory at the cost of the establishment or applicant. - Reference of the measure

- 7.Permits for imports and exports of animal and fisheries breeds
No imports or exports of animal breeds and genetic material shall be done without first obtaining a permit from the Commissioner, Livestock Health and Entomology.
8. List of suitable breeds to be drawn and updated regularly
(1) The list in the Third Schedule to this Act shall be the official list of suitable breeds for wide-spread use.
(2) The list will be updated regularly by the Executive Director.
(3) Any breed not appearing on the list shall only be allowed into the country for restricted use on designated locations and experimental stations or specialized production units approved by the Director.
(4) All imports and exports shall be sanctioned by the Director based on verified documentary evidence of the material being free of the disease agents and prohibited hereditary defects as specified in the Fourth Schedule to this Act.
9.Genetic materials
(1) A sample of all genetic materials namely—
(a)semen;
(b)ova;
(c)eggs; and
(d)embryos.
shall be submitted to a national depository for examination and future reference.
(2) All new genetic materials shall conform to the national bio-safety
standards as set by the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology
(UNCST) and the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).
(3) A satisfactory genetic impact statement shall be provided by the promoter to the Centre and other designated offices.
(4) All genetic material developed in Uganda shall be patented and protected under the provisions of the National and International Intellectual property rights.
(5) Imported and locally produced genetic material shall be strictly screened
to conform to quality and performance standards established by the Director.
(6) The seller of animal genetic material to be used for breeding purposes, shall show proof of the quality of the product to the prospective buyer, by indicating the performance and parameters of the animals in issue which parameters shall conform to the performance parameters contained in the Fifth Schedule to this Act.
10.Quality of semen and sperms For the avoidance of doubt, the prescribed minimum amount of spermatozoa in a dose of semen shall be the one specified in the Sixth Schedule of this Act - Reference of the measure

- This Compulsory Specification applies to the handling, preparation, processing, packing, transportation, freezing, storage and quality of frozen shrimps (prawns), langoustines and crabs, and products derived therefrom, for human consumption, which are to be offered for sale.

- 3.4 Application for approval of the product(s) shall be made to the NRCS for every consignment of frozen shrimps (prawns), langoustines and crabs, and products derived therefrom which are imported into South Africa in accordance with the requirements of Annex A.2.1.
Annex A.2.1
The applicant shall apply to the nearest NRCS regional office for approval of the product(s). The application shall be made at least 10 working days prior to the date on which it is needed. The application shall be accompanied by the following:
A.2.1 For imported products, applicants shall supply details of the frozen shrimps (prawns), langoustines and crabs, and products derived therefrom per consignment by providing the following information:
a) Details of the importer, product, bill of entry, quantity, number of product and batch code(s), code list or bill of lading;
b) Health certificate where it is applicable in terms of any agreement;
c) The date and place where the consignment will be available for inspection;
d) Name and contact details of a contact person;
e) The number(s) of the bill(s) of entry and the date authorized by custom officials; and
f) The voyage number of the cargo carrier (vessel, aircraft or registration number

23. (1) A person shall not import any fish or fish product without an import permit issued by the Director.

- 5. (1) No person shall introduce or cause to be introduced into Zambia any stock, carcass, article or other matter specified in the Third Schedule without a permit issued by the Director or an officer authorised by the Director. Such permit may be refused at the discretion of the Director without any reason being assigned.
10. (1) No person shall manufacture or sell or expose for sale in Zambia any virus, vaccine, serum or analogous product used for the diagnosis or treatment of diseases of animals, except under a permit in writing issued by the Director.
(2) A permit to manufacture or sell or expose for sale any of the substances mentioned in sub-regulation (1) shall be subject to such conditions as the Director may endorse on the permit. - Reference of the measure
