11(6) Iodated food grade salt shall not be exposed to rain, excessive humidity or direct sunlight at any stage of storage, transportation or sale.
11(7) Bags of iodated food grade salt shall be stored only in covered rooms or warehouses that have adequate ventilation.

Description of the measure
3. (1) Subject to the provision of paragraph (2), no regulated produce in respect of which
a compulsory marketing order under section 8 of the Act is in force, shall be moved
whether by headload, pack animal, road vehicle, train, vessel or otherwise, except under
and in accordance with the terms and conditions of a written permit issued by the Maize
and Produce Board, hereinafter referred to as the Board, or by some persons authorized
in writing by the Board for that purpose.
(2) The provision of paragraph (1) shall not apply—
(a) to the movement of regulated produce by the producer from its place of
production by the most direct or normal route to the producer’s store or to
the nearest trading centre or market within the district in which it is
produced, for sale to the Board or its authorized agent;
(b) to the movement, within the district in which it is produced, and in quantities
not exceeding those specified in the Schedule, of regulated produce
specified in the Schedule which is—
(i) packed or contained separately from the produce of any person other
than the owner;
(ii) accompanied throughout such movement by the owner; and
(iii) intended for the consumption of the owner and his family residing in
the district in which it was produced.

Description of the measure
25. (1) All coffee shall be stored in warehouses duly licensed by the Authority in consultation with the county governments. (2) No premises shall be designated as a coffee warehouse by the Authority unless the premises are inspected, approved, and registered as such. (3) A licensed warehouse shall conform to the standards issued by the Kenya Bureau of Standards and shall be duly certified by a public health officer. (4) The Authority shall cause warehouses and warehousing activities to be inspected on a regular basis. (5) No warehouseman shall have a lien of any nature over coffee whether in his possession or not. (6) Every warehouseman shall insure all coffee in his warehouse or under his custody against fire, theft and other insurable risk. (7) No coffee shall be removed from a warehouse without a coffee warrant issued by the Exchange and registered with the warehouseman. (8) A person who operates a warehouse in contravention of this Regulation commits an offence.

22. (1) A person transporting through Kenya genetically modified organisms, which are not destined for use in Kenya shall—
(a) apply for a written approval of such transportation from the Authority; and
(b) ensure that the genetically modified organisms being transported are properly packaged and transported in accordance with such regulations as may be prescribed and any applicable international standards.
(2) An application to transport genetically modified organisms through Kenya shall be in the prescribed manner.

50. Handling, packaging, etc., of genetically modified organisms Any person manufacturing or importing any genetically modified organisms shall ensure that the handling, packaging, identification and transportation of genetically modified organisms is done in the prescribed manner

2. Requirements for boats/vessels handling fresh fish
(1) Boats and vessels designed to preserve fish for more than 24 hours shall be equipped with holds, tanks or containers for the storage of fish at a temperature as close as possible to the temperature of melting ice (0oC).
(2) Holds and containers shall commensurate with the size and species of fish and be so designed to prevent melt water to remain in contact with the fish.
(3) The boat/vessel shall have on board ice making machines or carry ice in sufficient amount from land based establishments.
(4) The mix of fish, ice and water shall reach not more than 3oC 6 hours after loading and not more than 0oC after 16 hours.
(5) The ice used on board shall be made from clean seawater or potable water to avoid contamination of the product.
(6) Finely divided ice shall be used to obtain maximum contact with the fish for rapid cooling of fish to a temperature as close as possible to 0oC.

8. Transportation of fish
(1) The transport vehicles shall be designed and constructed such that –
(a) the walls, floors and ceilings, where appropriate are made of corrosion resistant material with smooth, non-absorbent surfaces;
(b) the floor is adequately drained;
(c) provides protection against contamination, exposure
to extreme temperatures and drying effects of sun or wind.
(d) it permits free flow of chilled or frozen air around the load of fish.
(2) The transport vehicles shall maintain the temperature of –
(b) chilled fish as close as possible to 0oC;
(b) frozen fish at -18oC or colder, in all parts of the product, possibly with a short upward fluctuation of not more than 3oC.

Description of the measure
18(3) Fish shall be handled properly with particular attention to time and temperature.
(4) Fresh fish, fillets, shell fish and their products that are to be chilled shall be held at a temperature as close as possible to 0oC. Packaged fresh fish shall be chilled to a temperature as close as possible to 0oC.
(5) Chilling shall commence as soon as possible.
(6) Sufficient and adequate ice or chilled of refrigerated water systems where appropriate shall be employed to ensure that fish are kept chilled at a temperature as close as possible to 0oC.
(7) Fish shall be stored in shallow layers and surrounded by finely divided melting ice.
(8) Chilled or refrigerated water systems shall be designed and maintained to provide adequate cooling or freezing capacities during peak loads.
(9) Avoid physical damage to fish during sorting and transfer.
(10) Fish shall not be trampled or stood upon and shall not be exposed to weather inclement.
(11) Finely divided ice shall be used to minimize damage and maximize cooling capacity.

55. Food transport vehicle
(1) No person shall use any vehicle for the transport or delivery of any food intended for sale for human consumption unless the vehicle is fitted with a compartment to contain the food, and such compartment is -
(a) clearly, legibly and permanently marked on both external sides - "Food
Transport Vehicle";
(b) completely and effectively sealed off from the driver's cabin;
(c) completely enclosed so as to protect any food carried therein from contamination by dust, flies or any other means and
(d) maintained clean at all times.

58. Sanitation of vehicle transporting frozen food
(1) No person shall transport or cause to be transported in a vehicle any frozen or chilled foopm meant for storage, processing or distribution for human consumption unless that vehicle is appropriately equipped for the transportation of that food.
(2) For the purposes of paragraph (1),
(a) frozen food shall be transported in a refrigerated vehicle which is equipped with a temperature monitoring device;
(b) chilled food shall be transported in an isotherniie vehicle;
(2) The driver of the vehicle shall ensure that the interior of the vehicle is adequately protected from contaminating matter, including flies, pests and dust.

(a) No person shall store, transport or sell raw salt, unless there is on its container a label which specifies in bold and conspicuous letters that it is intended for animal husbandry, agricultural use or processing.
