  5 (1) Dripping shall —
  (a) be composed of fat rendered from the meat of cattle, sheep or goats which have been determined by an inspector to be in good health at the time of slaughter and fit for human consumption;
  (b) be free from objectionable odour or taste and be of an off-white to pale yellow colour;
  (c) contain no foreign substance except common salt;
  (d) have a free fatty acid content of not more than 1,5% expressed as oleic acid.

  (a) any organ or portion of poultry that is not commonly used as food;
  (b) any preservative other than those permitted in terms of the Food and Food Standards (Preservatives, Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, 1972; or
  (c) any food colour other than caramel

  (4) Canned poultry-
  (a) shall be prepared from poultry meat and may contain-
  (i) the bones or parts of bones attached to the portion of poultry meat that is being canned;
  (ii) broth;
  (iii) salt;
  (iv) gelling agents as permitted by the Food and Food Standards (Preservatives, Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, 1972; and
  (v) not more than five per centum fat;
  (b) which contains a gelling agent shall state on the label the presence of the gelling agent or the word “jellied”.

  These regulations shall apply to edible fats and oils which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe. 

  Coded list of objectives

  Description of the measure

  (4) Fatty substances intended to be used for cooking or other culinary purposes—
  (a) shall, if they are a mixture of any or all of the following ingredients—
  (i) oils conforming to the requirements of subsection (5));
  (ii) animal fats;
  (iii) hydrogenated (hardened) vegetable and marine oils and fats;
  be labelled "COOKING-FAT", in type no smaller 18 point
  Provided that a fatty substance intended for a specific culinary purpose may be labelled in a manner which clearly describes the specific purpose for which the substance is intended;
  (b) if prepared from fats and oils of vegetable origin, shall be labeled "VEGETABLE OIL”, or shall bear the name of the oil from which it is manufactured, in type no smaller than 18 point;
  (c) shall be free from rancidity and objectionable odour and taste;
  (d) shall not contain any mineral oil;
  (e) may contain permitted antioxidants.

  (a) stabilising agent as permitted by the Food and Food Standards (Preservatives, Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, 1972; and
  (b) in case of dried whole egg, egg-yolk, egg-white and egg-albumen, two per centum anticaking agent as permitted by the Food and Food Standards (Preservatives, Additives and Prohibited Substances) Regulations, 1972.

  These regulations shall apply to preserves, other than jam and marmalade prepared for consumption by diabetic persons and labelled accordingly, table-jelly and honey which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

  5 (1) Subject to the provisions of subsection (2)—
  (a) jam shall be the product obtained by boiling clean, sound fruit to a pulpy or semi-solid consistency and shall contain not less than 45 parts by mass of the named fruit to 100 parts by mass of the finished product ;
  [amended by SI 40/1990 with effect from the 16th March,1990]
  (b) marmalade shall be the product obtained by boiling one or more, types of clean, sound citrus fruit or parts of citrus fruit;
  (c) fruit-jelly shall be the product obtained by boiling the strained juice of, or the strained water extract from, clean, sound fruit to a suitable consistency and shall be reasonably clear or transparent and be free of seeds and pulp, containing not less than 45 parts by mass of the named fruit juice to 100 parts by mass of the finished product;
  with refined or mill white sugar, as defined in section 5 of the Food and Food Standards (Sugar and Allied Products) RGN 838/1974, and may, in the case of jam and marmalade, contain added water.

  These regulations shall apply to edible fats and oils which are sold or manufactured for sale in Zimbabwe.

  Description of the measure

  (5) Edible oils, salad oils or cooking oils commonly recognized as wholesome food-stuffs
  (a) shall be free from rancidity, decomposition and offensive odour or taste;
  (b) shall not contain any mineral oil;
  (c) may contain permitted antioxidants;
  (d) shall, if more than 1 oil is contained in a package, be labelled "BLENDED VEGETABLE OIL" in type no smaller than 30 point;
  (e) shall be of the standard of purity or quality laid down in the current edition of the British Pharmacopoeia or British Pharmaceutical Codex:
  Provided that, if no such standard is laid down, the maximum free fatty acid content shall be 1%, expressed as oleic acid.

  (i) citric, tartaric or lactic acid or citrates, tartrates or lactates of the quality specified in the British Pharmacopoeia;
  (ii) permitted colouring ingredients or permitted preservatives;
  (iii) dextrose, glucose syrup, invert sugar, honey, spices or synthetic flavouring substances;
  (iv) in the case of fruit deficient in pectin, pectin or pectinous material derived from plant sources:
  Provided that added pectin, calculated as calcium pectate, shall not exceed—
  (i) 0,3% in jam and marmalade; and
  (ii) 0,6% in fruit-jelly
